Pumphrey will not practice or play vs Cleveland this week

19 August 2018 Eagles News

Bad news for those still in the Donnel Pumphrey hive, as the second-year back is dealing with a hamstring injury.

The football saying goes: “You cant make the club in the tub.”

Donnel Pumprhey has had every opportunity to make the roster, but he’s facing an uphill battle missing valuable reps and game time experience. In order to showcase his talents, Pumphrey has got to flash on the field as soon as possible. So far, Pumphrey has shown flashes in camp, but has been just ok in camp, but he’s done nothing really to separate himself from the pack.

Next week versus the New York Jets could be Donnel Pumphrey’s last time to shine on the big stage for the Eagles. At the moment, both undrafted free agent Josh Adams and Wendell Smallwood are looking like better options to take his place on the 53.

Unfortunately, there is a real possibility the Eagles could part ways with their 2017 4th round selection if he doesn’t get healthy soon.
