The Eagles’ character and toughness will guide them this season

28 October 2017 Eagles News

Injuries, pressure situations and more, you cannot faze this Eagles team.

The motto in the NFL is next man up and on the Eagles team this season, that motto is in full effect. This past Monday, the Eagles lost Jordan Hicks and Jason Peters, two players who are very important. However, the reserves who stepped in stepped in seamlessly.

This is a testament to the culture that the Eagles and head coach Doug Pederson has been able to build here in Philadelphia. Every player plays for each other, for the first time in awhile, the Eagles have a group of guys willing to give everything they got for each other.

When everyone is playing for each other and there is the trust that everyone will do their job, a football team is going to be very hard to beat. This Eagles team trust their process, trust their system and trust each other. So far this season, when needed the most, the offense has converted and the defense has come up huge. We have seen Fletcher Cox return a strip sack for a touchdown and Jalen Mills end a game with an interception. On the offensive side of the ball, the Eagles are the number one team on third down.

When adversity strikes the Eagles, they no longer run away and hide, this new Eagles team hits it full steam ahead. Their bend but do not break mentality is going to lead them places. When you take this team to the dark place no team likes to go, they will find a way to get out.
