The winning formula: How the Eagles will beat the Redskins today

Today, Eagles football is back and the Eagles will hope to hit the ground running with a win. Facing a tough opponent, the Eagles will have to be on top of their game. If they want to win, here is the formula they need to follow.
1. Establish the Run
It might sound self-explanatory, but the Eagles need to establish the run early and they need to not give it up if they fall behind early. Patience is key, eventually, the run game will break the Redskins down.
Last season, the Redskins had the 24th ranked run defense, allowing on average 120 yards against a game. Teams had a lot of success running the ball on them. For the Eagles, this will be crucial today because not only will it wear down the defense, but it will also take a lot of pressure off of Carson Wentz and it will completely open up the Eagles playbook. The Eagles have a plethora of running backs who will feature today and each of those running backs possess a unique talent which will give the Redskins a lot of problems. This game will be won with the run game and if the Eagles have success in the run game early, the Redskins will be in a lot of trouble.
2. Rush the Passer
Needless to say, if the Eagles do not get to Kirk Cousins, he will pick them apart like he has done is seasons past. The Eagles have invested a lot of money and resources into their defensive line and they need to perform today.
The Redskins do have a good offensive line, however, the Eagles defensive line has no excuses. They need to find a way to get pressure on Cousins and avoid another career day from the Redskins quarterback.
3. Offensive weapons need to step up, show their worth.
Much like the defensive line, the Eagles have invested a lot of money invested in their offensive weapons. Alshon Jeffery, Torrey Smith, Zach Ertz (big contract) and LeGarrette Blount are all big name players who need to perform. Although Jeffery, Smith, and Blount might be cheaper on the books this season, however, they still have that expectatation with them. All of these players need to play up to their expectation and really carry this offense and make it easy for Wentz. It is time for them to prove their worth and show the Eagles fans what they can do. If they shine, the Redskins will have a very rough day defesnviely.
All of these three keys to the game make a formula that is easier said than done. However, if the Eagles can accomplish all three, there is no doubt about it, they will fly high in victory this Sunday.
