Former Eagles LS Jon Dorenbos will need heart surgery

8 September 2017 Eagles News

According to Saints Head Coach, Sean Payton, LS Jon Dorenbos will be placed on the NFI, as he’ll need heart surgery immediately.

On Thursday, the Saints medical staff found that Dorenbos has an aortic aneurysm from a pre-existing condition which they found during a physical exam.

The good news for Dorenbos is that with doctors finding it, this may have saved Dorenbos’ life. However, the magic man’s football career could be over after this recent diagnosis.

According to WEB MD an aortic aneurysm is a bulge in a section of the aorta, the body’s main artery. The aorta carries oxygen-rich blood from the heart to the rest of the body. Because the section with the aneurysm is overstretched and weak, it can burst. If the aorta bursts, it can cause serious bleeding that can quickly lead to death.

With the situation at hand, the Saints could get back the 7th round pick they sent to the Philadelphia Eagles for Dorenbos’ services.
