Travis Long released

28 July 2016 Eagles News

On Wednesday, the Eagles parted ways with often-injured linebacker Travis Long.

The undrafted free agent out of Washington State, made his way on the Eagles roster after returning to form, as he tore his ACL during the end of his senior year. Long impressed Eagles’ coaching staff and fought for a roster spot, landing on the Birds’ practice squad in 2013.

Unfortunately for Long, he tore his ACL again in 2014, during the Eagles last preseason game. After making his way back from a another long rehab, Long was ready to prove himself. In the first week of August, Long tore his ACL again during camp.

Now that the Eagles have moved on to a 4-3 defense, it was probably best for Long to look for 3-4 defense that suited his skill-set.
